What would you sing?
Do I have more stories? I will have to think on that awhile. In the meantime, I did post a peculiar thing that happened to me and my husband back in July. You can read that here.
I took the afternoon off yesterday. Work has been driving me crazy so I thought it best just to get away. It was great. I sat on my deck in my shorts and t-shirt. It was 70 degrees. The willow tree has started to bud out as well as other trees along the bank. There were a few guys in their fishing boats taking advantage of the day, but for the most part it was quiet and peaceful. I read back over my lesson for last night and then just relaxed awhile. I wanted to get back to town in time to go by the bank, get Derek a birthday cake and take it by to them, and oh yeah, I wanted to wash my Tahoe. If you ever have a drought, if you ever need rain in any way, call me up! If I wash my car you can rest assured it will rain. It was pouring down by the time I left Derek’s house.
It is nice to hop into bed when it is raining outside though. I had the big old bed to myself again last night, and except for some strange dream where my class was trying out for American Idol, I slept great! In my dream I couldn’t think of anything to sing, so I was singing “On Zion’s Glorious Summit”. Yeah, that song would be a winner with me singing it! So if you were on American Idol what would you sing (just pretend that you can if you must).?

These songs reminded me of a performance I did in the fair queen pageant (11th Grade), Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head. I sang and did a little dance, in a Red shorts outfit, with white boots and an umbrella. I know it will shock you that I did not win!!!
O.K. let me clarify. I was in the pageant for my school ONLY!! Didn't make it to the big tent! But hey, I was Miss Jones Chapel!!
If I were on American Idol, I would like to sing s rocker like "Summer of '69" by Brian Adams or a power ballad like "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. And then I woke up...
My 7-year-old get a kick out of American Idol (I have to tackle and hide her face during commericals! Too much smut.) and says she would love to get up there and belt out, "head, shoulders, knees, and toes." Maybe someday!
"Black Velvet" definitely "Black Velvet" . . . but I'm with Terri in that I don't know how well I'd stand up to the criticism--or even sing knowing I'd have to face it.
Cheers! : )
Cheers! : )
My wife and I have joked about the idea of me being on American Idol, there is just no way, cause I'd be the guy Simon would ask, So, how do you think you did? I'd reply, "Not too shabby." The point is I couldn't do it. The funny thing is that when I was in High School not very familiar with the whole theater thing other than thinking it's cool, I decided to try out for our summer musical, which tune did I sing you ask? "On Zion's Glorious Summit." Oh the memories...
