Why are you here?

Why do you read my blog? What are you expecting from me; a funny story or amusing anecdote? Do you think I will reveal some insight into my life, or into my spiritual life? Do you feel like you know me and just use this as a way of keeping up with my life?

Do you think we are looking for something that is lacking in our lives with this blogging? Do we go about our real lives with so many shallow and superficial relationships that we look out here for someone to talk to; someone who will reassure us that life is about more than The One Day sale at Rich’s, or who will make it to the World Series?

I was just wondering.

Comments:
Because you don't write me e-mails. Duh

LOL! Love that first answer.

I appreciate the insights you share about what God is showing you in your daily life. I feel a sense of community with you because of our common walk with Jesus, community that I don't get in my "real" face-to-face life. And just think, when we finally do meet (whether on earth or in heaven), you won't be a total stranger to me!

I check your blog because I respect your wisdom and insight. I know you to be a prayer warrior. I always find something to make me think, and to encourage me. And usually something to make me smile!

OK, weird. I don't know. My first thought was, "Donna's a terrific person," and yes although this seems very true, it does not keep me going to other blogs. Then this thought came to my mind, "well, she comments on my blog," but that didn't nail it either. How about I just give the teenager answer and say, "I just do."

You seem like a kindred spirit and I appreciate your ability to see more than one side of any issue.

I would second pretty much all the comments above - I love how easily we seem to relate, even though we are at different stages in life.

Donna,
I have been looking at these comments and Fajita's is tempting. Somehow I feel connected. We have both shared some things on the blogs and also via e-mail. Maybe that level of honesty causes the connection. Maybe it is your desire to share the real you here. It couldn't be that you like Bama. Just don't ever tell me you do that rammer hammer cheer thing.

I can pretty much Amen all of the above, too--especially Mae's complete answer--also I find in your a kindred spirit that encourages and inspires me to walk closer to Jesus--and I can read it any time--I have great friends that encourage me--but with your blog I can click on at 2 am and pretty much know I will be encouraged. AND I need to have friends all over the country so I will have new places to visit!! (LOL!!) I just hope I don't get *lost* on the way there!

I check in to just be nosey. I do feel like I'm beginning to know you after reading for a few weeks.

You crack me up! This post especially! I have wanted to ask these same questions before. Your blog makes me think and I enjoy looking in on your life. I find so many positive christian influences through this medium, and one can never have enough of those! I feel like this blog world is a place where we can cheer, vent, express and explore...plus it beats dusting and doing laundry. :)

You are a great "story teller" but we also receive a "lesson" along with the story and it is always refreshing. I see you walk the walk and talk the talk. Thank you for that!

I stumbled on your blog and you are a nice lady and gosh, triplets!

Very cool!

I don't know how I found your blog. Either you posted on mine or SG's. I enjoy your site b/c I think you are funny and real. I also love how you can take a simple situation and make it a spiritual lesson. I think you must have been a preacher in a former life!

I come here because you are real.

I stopped by b/c I met a bunch of new bloggers at Zoe.
