Question for you

To find out a girl's faults, praise her to her girlfriends (Benjamin Franklin)

OK ladies (and gentlemen) is this true?

Comments:
Hmm, hmm, hmm. Yes and no. It depends on the "friend". I have seen a jealous spirit that quickly tears down another...and I have beautiful loving spirits that only speak well of others. It all depends on who you ask!

A close friend would no doubt be armed with lots of valuable information...the question is whether they would divulge it or not!

Sometimes true--but mostly false from my pollyanna experience.

Donna, I think today's verse on Heartlight speaks to your question: He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
-- Proverbs 17:9

It depends on how insecure her friends are. I think a more true statement is "If you want to know a guy's faults, praise him to his wife!"

Paul - I get those Heartlight verses e-mailed to me every day. It's a great way to start the day!

I think it depends too on how good the friend is. Also, there are people who tend to dwell on the negative and those who tend to dwell on the positive. No matter what the question or praise, they will see it through their lense on life. I think for the most part I would disagree with Ben.

Paul and Beaner, I get Heartlight verses too! They are a good way to stay focused.

I hear your friend, Terri, is so great! She has always been there for me...

My friend Terri made me fudge....she is the GREATEST!!

Hard for me to see Ben Franklin saying the word "girlfriends" BUT he may have a point depending on how good of girl friends one has!

It seems to me if they are so willing to broadcast your faults, they aren't really girlfriends, are they?
